So I mentioned that I lost 28 lbs before my recent trip to Vegas 2 weeks ago. I wanted to recant about my weight loss journey and update on my progress. Last year in May I had my 2nd baby, a healthy boy that weighed 7 lbs 12oz. I gained a total of 14 lbs during my pregnancy & another 8 during the winter months after I had him! Talking about somebody being super depressed! Yes, I was. First of all I was scheduled to have lapband surgery b4 I found out I was prego. Little did I know God had different plans for me! I went in for my surgery & the doc returned & said "Sorry Ms. Jackson, you will not be having this surgery today hun, you are pregnant" WTH! Total surprise. So instead of being "skinny" 9 months later, I became a mother of two & was back at the drawing board regarding losing weight. Unfortunately my insurance company and doctors gave me the run around & I have yet to be approved for surgery again. So I decided to take matters into my own hands & do what I had to do! I prayed to God for help and an answer b/c my weight was getting out of control & I hated it!
On January 31st I signed up for Weight Watchers online. It helps me keep track of what I eat and how much I eat. It also motivates me to keep doing what I'm doing!! To date, I've lost 30 lbs which averages out to about 10 lbs per month. Now don't get me wrong I wanna push a lil harder so I can reach my 100 LBS LOST goal by January 2013 BUT losing 1 or 2 lbs every couple of days still feels AMAZING!!
Some of my favorite things to eat now are baked or grilled fish, turkey burgers on slim buns, spinach, grilled asparagus, stir frys & chicken ceasar salad on a whole wheat tortilla!! Yum! Yes I do miss fried chicken, pizza and all my other favs. Sometimes (not too often) I may indulge BUT the very next day I'm back on track! No EXCUSES!! I have made up in my mind that this is going to be a lifestyle change & not a "diet". This me from now & on and I don't plan on ever going back!!!
